Retrofitting Mid Century Modernism

This is a story about a small family and their desire to live off grid in one of the most remote parts of the UK amongst solitude and infinite space.

Our studio has been appointed to develop a retrofit strategy for an existing 1960s dwelling. Reducing its energy dependence, upgrading and extending the existing envelope of this elegant dwelling.

The project is located along the edge of the North Sea. This is a place rich in Viking history, wild open spaces, desolate beaches and rugged outposts. Our clients understandably fell in love with this existing well proportioned mid century modern home.

The house draws its name from its historic connection to Falsterbo in Sweden. Located on the exact same parallel across the North Sea. 55.39392° N, 12.83506° E.
