Memories of Life

“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”
― Unknown

When summer is in full force with the sun overhead blazing in a bleached blue sky, we convince ourselves the grey cloud cover and the dark days will never come.

The insects fly energised and fully charged as they dance between each flower. You would be forgiven for thinking that it's always been like this. Were the seasons a lie? We pretend there will be no end to this decadence.

November is a beautiful yet cruel month. It's a time of deep focus for our studio as the nights draw in, positioned between magnificent swells of ocean and sharp mountain air. It's also a time when the colour seems to vanish from the wild flowers and all that is left is a memory of summer.

At this time of year plants reveal their incredible hidden structure. Spent carcases, curled up structures - vacant of colour. Flowers reveal a sudden fragility and a new unadorned beauty.
