Matchbox Miniature Plattenbau.

Part of this miniature series is the Plattenbau WBS70 (East Germany) housed perfectly within a matchbox. Hand-made in Germany from natural and painted wood. Comes with building instruction.

AATISMO Raw Stationery.

Japanese studio AATISMO was formed in Tokyo in 2015 by Daiki Nakamori (industrial designer), Keita Ebitsuka (architect/concept designer), and Eriko Masunaga (architect). In 2016 they made pencils, rulers, and erasers into long sticks to look like wood or metal components found at home improvement stores. You can cut them into any length you want, or use them as materials for new tools.

IKEA and Shelter launches 'Real Life Roomsets'.

Together with their national charity partner, Shelter, IKEA have launched ‘Real Life Roomsets’ in four IKEA stores. Alongside new research that reveals public opinion around the housing emergency in the UK, their new campaign aims to raise awareness of the issue and highlight the real living conditions of those who are forced into temporary accommodation as a result. Powerful and thought-provoking.

Alchemy in Niigata.

In amongst the madness of 2021, Soeda-san took a trip to Niigata to document a few of the craftspeople whose expertise sets Niwaki products apart from the crowd. Gain an insight into how the raw materials are forged, hammered, sharpened and polished into finished products. It’s physical, messy, sometimes dangerous work, that, to the untrained eye, approaches a magical process.
