Kenya Hara.

In May 2013, Designculture sat down with internationally acclaimed Japanese designer Kenya Hara for a short, yet informative interview. Founded in 2013 by Nicola-Matteo Munari, Designculture is a website aimed at promoting the ‘culture of quality’ in design through the publication of interviews with designers from all over the world, monographic profiles of great designers from the past, and essays about important design topics.

Amancio Williams’s Bridge House.

One of the first built works of the Argentinian architect Amancio Williams was the house for his father, the musician and composer Alberto Williams. This small concrete building spans a creek on the father’s property in Mar del Plata. Designed in 1942, the house is conceived as a syntesis of three major geometrical gestures: the curved line of the bridge, the horizontal volume of the living areas and the plane of the terrace.

The Blade Runner Bathroom.

Paris-based designer and architect Tristian Auer sees his clients’ homes as a set and their owners as the stars of the show. For the Blade Runner Bathroom, Auer’s creation draws inspiration from the sci-fi film Blade Runner and Hong Kong’s high-rise apartments. He developed an aesthetic that strikes a balance between 1980s nostalgia and futurism.
