Looooped Minimalism.

French creative studio Loooop specialises in line art and have illustrated a collection of iconic chairs composed of a single minimal line, from Mies van der Rohe’s unmistakable Barcelona chair to Eero Aarnio’s playful hanging Bubble.

Spiritland.

Spiritland is a series of spaces for music lovers – a café, bar and radio studio in King’s Cross, a shop in Mayfair and a restaurant and bar at the foot of the Royal Festival Hall, all built around a deep love of music and the culture that surrounds it. These venues were born from a desire to engage with music in the deepest possible way – to hear it as the artist intended, to connect with the emotions within, with food and drink to match.

In Ruins: Breathing New Life Into Dilapidated Buildings.

Ruins have become an object of fascination and romanticisation. They are picturesque memorials to the past — physical reminders of what once was and the inescapable powers of time and decay. But every ruin has the potential to shelter once again, to become a historic frame for a contemporary space. Architizer have showcased six projects that have breathed creative new life into derelict shells.

Radio Lento.

Radio Lento is a podcast series with episodes lasting between 15 and 90 minutes. Each are soundscapes of places the creators have discovered on walks and other trips. One is called Night Beside a Stream in Wales; one Rising Tide in a Rock Garden; and another The Birds That Sing on the Cusp of Night. But not all offer rural aural bliss. “We’ve covered approximately 400 miles on foot in search of places to record,” said Sugden, “not the usual chocolate box places, but ones with interesting sound, such as [Birmingham’s] Spaghetti Junction and industrial locations. For us, it is about finding and sharing beauty from everyday places.”
