Artek + Marimekko.

As part of its 90th anniversary festivities, Artek has joined forces with Finnish design house Marimekko to present a limited furniture collection. This collaborative collection merges Marimekko’s art of printmaking and Artek’s technology of wood bending. Some of Marimekko’s most iconic prints by designer Maija Isola combine with the purity of Alvar Aalto’s Stool 60, Table 90D and Bench 153B. Each pattern is applied using marquetry on birch veneer, where contrasting wood grains translate Isola’s vibrant patterns into a subtle, shimmering surface. The collection celebrates what unites two iconic Finnish brands — bold and distinct identities shaped by architecture, nature and human-centric pragmatism. It reflects Artek and Marimekko’s pursuit of long-lasting design, and the marquetry production process minimises wood waste.

Le Monde HQ Sketchbooks.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Le Monde's headquarters in Paris, Snøhetta has released the Le Monde HQ Sketchbooks, an artistic documentation of the building's construction by French artist Frédéric Chaume. Between 2017 and 2020, Chaume visited the site over 250 times, capturing the evolution of the building through a series of hand-drawn sketches and engravings. His work offers a unique, artistic perspective on the construction process, highlighting moments rich in human activity and urban transformation. The book features a curated selection of 232 artworks and was designed and published by Snøhetta to commemorate the building's milestone. It reflects the vision of investor and chairman of the board, Pierre Bergé, who emphasized the importance of preserving the project's cultural legacy beyond mere technical documentation.

RIBA Stirling Prize 2025.

The RIBA Stirling Prize 2025 shortlist is here, revealing a list of six buildings, all now contenders for this year's top architecture gong – the best UK building for 2025. Established in 1996, the award is widely acknowledged for its prestigious status, highlighting the country's finest architecture. The highly respected accolade is traditionally announced in October and has in the past included a major London infrastructure scheme, the Elizabeth Line (2024), and a residential and nursing facility, the John Morden Centre (2023). This year's winner will be revealed in a ceremony at the Roundhouse in London on 16 October 2025.
