01. Quote

“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”

—Steve Jobs

02. Inspired

The Mediated Motion, 2001.

In 2001, artist Olafur Eliasson created a sequence of spaces filled with natural materials including water, fog, earth, wood, fungus and duckweed entitled 'The Mediated Motion' at the Kunsthaus Bregenz in Austria. During their journey through the exhibition, visitors were confronted by a variety of sensory experiences which had been precisely articulated by Eliasson. The artist also modified the dominant orthogonal character of the building, including the insertion of a subtly slanting floor, which made visitors become more conscious of the act of movement through space.

Le Corbusier's Architectural Polychromy.

Timeless, always up to date and with an incomparable aesthetic – Le Corbusier's 63 architectural colours. Le Corbusier's architectural colour theory offers a compact and consistently harmonious colour palette, in which each of the 63 shades embodies specific spatial and human effects. A reliable tool for convincing colour design.

Polestar Precept.

Polestar has a vision: that sustainable materials can create new design opportunities while redefining premium, that technology can further close the gap between driver and car, and that design languages can (and should) always evolve. Polestar Precept brings that vision to life. It’s not a concept car. It’s a commitment car. A declaration of where Polestar plan to go and what they plan to do. A rule to inform their future behaviour. A precept, in other words.

Bond Redesigned.

During the lockdown, Illustrator and Graphic Designer Matt Needle embarked on a self initiated project of re-designing/re-imagining artwork inspired by every single James Bond film on the run up to the release of No Time To Die. There are a few examples on his website (as well as many more inspiring pieces), or more of the series can be found in this Twitter thread.

06. Book

The Monocle Book of Gentle Living.

The Monocle Book of Gentle Living is a handbook to help you think about how to reconnect, make good things happen, to do something you care about and discover nice places and extraordinary people along the way. Sometimes the fixes are simple and personal: to run, dive into a lake, sleep more or set aside some time with the people who make us happy. Maybe it’s about eating food from producers who are proud of its provenance or building spaces into cities that respect older residents and value younger ones.
