Rebuilding Kharkiv.

British architect Norman Foster has met with the mayor of Kharkiv to discuss the rebuilding of the Ukrainian city following extensive damage suffered during the Russian invasion.

Foster, who leads the UK's largest architecture studio Foster + Partners, met mayor Ihor Terekhov in Geneva to discuss the "rehabilitation of the city" in eastern Ukraine earlier this week.

"I undertake to assemble the best minds with the best planning, architectural, design, and engineering skills in the world to bear on the rebirth of the city of Kharkiv," said Foster.

Restricted Areas.

The project “Restricted Areas” by Danila Tkachenko is about the desire of humans for technological progress. Tkachenko travels in search of places which used to have great importance for the technical progress - and which are now deserted. Secret cities that cannot be found on maps, forgotten scientific triumphs, abandoned buildings of almost inhuman complexity.

Meditation Hall.

Designed by HIL Architects, a suburban space was turned into a modern temple. This meditation and yoga centre in Huanghua was inspired by nearby wetlands, offering a calm retreat to those who search for a contemporary shrine. The design brief was to transform a series of retail spaces into a place to hold Zen meditation, yoga, and other related activities, providing the local resident with a tranquil retreat inside the community, responding to the image of the wetland landscape.

Wasara.

WASARA was born from a desire to design tableware that perfectly complements the dishes you serve and creates a heartwarming and comfortable setting. The plates are made of Washi paper, and have been designed to fit the curve of the human hand. Part of an environmentally conscious range of tableware products, they are waterproof, oil-resistant, yet compostable and soft to the touch.

Eno.

Gary Hustwit has started production on “Eno,” a career-spanning documentary about musician and artist Brian Eno. The non-fiction film boasts access to hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage, unreleased music from Eno’s archive, and visual art. It’s the first authorised documentary about the music legend. It's set to be an art film about creativity, with the output of Brian’s 50-year career as its raw material. Coming in 2023.
