The Monocle Apartment.

On the second floor of the Gasthof Oxen in the heart of Küsnacht is a spacious suite for long weekends down the lake from Zürich. With two bedrooms, an elegant living room and full kitchen, the Monocle apartment houses a collection of original art and photography from Monocle’s archives, as well as painters and illustrators from around the region, and vintage posters from our chairman’s collection.

Sent From Coventry.

The printmaker and illustrator Paul Catherall uses linocuts to represent iconic British landmarks. ‘Sent from Coventry’ is a collection of prints that highlight and record the groundbreaking post-war buildings in Coventry – Paul’s hometown – which, at the time, were set to define Coventry as a “city of the future.”

The Promise. Architect BV Doshi.

Balkrishna Doshi (1927-2023) is one of India's most influential 20th century architects and recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Doshi and his practice Vastu-Shilpa has a portfolio spanning over 70 years, including collaborations with both Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn. The film introduces viewers to his famous buildings and offers an exclusive look into his work process. Doshi shares his sources of inspiration and motivation and is also a brilliant storyteller. His presence of mind, his humour and his wisdom create the image of a man from whom we can not only learn to build humanly, but from whom we can learn – to be human.
