Pencil-maker Viarco.

One of the advantages of using a pencil rather than a pen is that graphite allows for experimentation (and mistakes to be erased); for sketching ideas before making them permanent. It’s this same notion of trial and error that José Vieira has used to breathe new life into Viarco, the Portuguese pencil-maker.

Pixel Light.

Designed by New-York-based Nicholas Baker, the striking Pixel light features a diffused radiating grid that resembles a retro 8bit graphic. Nicholas worked with Gantri to design a light that utilised their 3D printing manufacturing method. During the day, the simple round form sits quietly with its circular face hiding the grid. At night the light illuminates the grid to become a moment of delight and surprise.

Castle High Wins RSAW Award.

We are honoured to announce that Castle High has received the RSAW (Royal Society of Architects Wales) award after an evening in the centre of Cardiff. The project although commenced 10 years ago has been a labour of love for our client who carried out most of the construction work themselves as funds became available. Now with the family happily moved in - it’s fulfilling its purpose as a zero-energy, fun family, multi generational home.

Landscape 2021.

Landscape painting has existed globally for many centuries, across every culture, East and West. In the East, black and white ink paintings have been a part of mainstream artistic activity for a thousand years. In contemporary practice, new directions and various techniques have expanded the field. Working with various types of stone, artist Kim HyunJoo has sought to extend the story of landscape art that was embodied by black and white-centered oriental landscape painting. The spirit of this art form has come to exist in these three-dimensional objects, fabricated from carved rock.

Saule House.

Saule House is a bespoke three-bedroom energy-efficient home located in North Somerset, UK. A luxurious home defined by the use of light and the timeless geometry of the golden ratio. The design is inspired by Latvian culture and uses the fern as a personal symbol of growth.
