1972.

A series of photographs by Chicago-based Noritaka Minami of architect Kisho Kurokawa’s Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo. The series entitled ‘1972’ documents one of the few proposals realised by Metabolism, the avant-garde architectural movement that flourished in postwar Japan in the 1960s.

Affinities – 50 Years of Design.

Margaret Howell and Emily Richardson have collaborated together on a short film entitled ‘Affinities – 50 Years of Design’. The film attempts to show the affinity Margaret feels for certain aspects of life in Japan. It includes personal photographs and objects that have appealed to Margaret on her many visits to Japan, from 1983 onwards.

Ploterre.

Ploterre brings environmental data to life through a combination of mathematics and design. Founded in Scotland by Rebecca J Kaye, the project stemmed from a passion for the natural world. The result of this work is artwork created entirely from data. Some of this work is produced as limited edition prints and sold online and in selected shops. Other work is produced in collaboration with researchers and companies striving to make a difference.

Utopia, 1960.

Utopia, 1960 is an ongoing photographic project that draws inspiration from the 1939 New York World's Fair and Walt Disney's Tomorrowland. Photographer Jose Morales emulates the fictional retro-future known as ‘Democracity’—America's past interpretation of a perfectly integrated metropolis, pulsing with life and elegant geometry.

Re:collection was established in 2009 by Dominic Hofstede as an online archive of Australian graphic design, with a focus on work created between the years 1960–1990. The project was created primarily to address the scarcity of reference material available related to this most significant period for the profession.
