Be part of the Olympic celebrations – Adain Avion: Artist Taking the lead’ commission for London 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games – Cultural Project Wales.
Hyde and Hyde Architects are participating with Welsh artist and creator Marc Rees, one of Wales’s leading exponents of contemporary performance and installation, in one of his most ambitious projects do date.
The architecturally inspired intervention incorporates ‘Avion’, a mobile arts space created from the recycled fuselage of a DC9 aeroplane that will migrate across Wales, interacting with local communities and the collaboration of contemporary dance and visual artists. Creating a social sculpture for the London Olympics 2012.
Hyde + Hyde are delighted to offer 6 students the unique opportunity to be a part of this innovative take on in-flight entertainment. Gain knowledge of working on live exhibitions alongside RIBA architects. The exhibition will be created over a 10 day period between 14th & 31st May 2012, at Hyde + Hyde’s studio in Swansea, volunteers are needed within these dates for as much time they are able to spare.
We are looking for talented modelmakers and researchers that can contribute to the design and installation. Participants involved will be acknowledged in any publications and work produced and references are encouraged to be used in your portfolio.
