Petrichor House

The 250m² house named ‘Petrichor’ – the sweet smell in the air after rainfall, incorporates large overhangs and canopies designed to collect and celebrate rainwater while providing a heightened sense of luxury warmth and shelter. Located within a remote four-acre site on the wildly beautiful Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales. The home is arranged around a central courtyard and has an ordered façade with perimeter walls of glass for unrivalled mountain views. A portico canopy wraps around the home providing shelter, a place to find solitude and follow the sun through the day. An aspen shingle ‘crown’ cloaks the house at roof level, providing additional deck among the tree canopies.
