Kristian Alexander Hyde

Director of Hyde + Hyde Architects. Unit leader at the Welsh School of Architecture, visiting critic at the University of Portsmouth and University of Bath.

He Graduated with a first class honours in Architecture from the University of Portsmouth in 2000. He then travelled to the USA and Canada studying Art, Philosophy and Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and went on to work for Anshen + Allen in San Francisco.

His work has won numerous awards and has been published in various broadsheets, academic journals and has been exhibited at the RIBA in London.

Kay Hyde

Graduated with a first class honours degree in Architecture from the University of Portsmouth and University of Plymouth.

After graduating she joined Hampshire County Council, where she worked as a project architect on numerous schools and educational buildings. She then travelled to the United States to Study Architecture & Dance in Cincinnati and work in San Francisco to return in 2006 to work in London and later for John Pardey Architects in Lymington.

In 2006 Kay set up Hyde + Hyde Architects with her husband Kristian; a progressive award winning architecture practice based in South Wales, with work across the UK.

David John

David John joined us in 2007 and brings with him 35 years of accountancy and a wealth of financial and project management experience.

Born in South Wales in 1950. After a commercial apprenticeship with Atlas Sprinkler studying ONC/HNC at Swansea College, he joined British Leyland and carried out positions covering financial costing, Investment Analysis, Business Planning and Forecasting.

At 40yrs of age John joined Alcoa Manufacturing as management Accountant in South Wales, covering all their Capital Investment of £4m, Cost Control of £17m and Financial Planning.

John took a sabbatical last year to fulfil a lifetime dream of sailing across the Atlantic.

Claire de Jong

Claire's career began as sales ledger assistant for ECS International, a French computer company back in 1990.

In 1996, having gained experience in varying roles including credit control, recruitment and merchandising, Claire enjoyed five years working for global record label Decca Music Group in Finance & Business as Executive assistant to the Vice President.

After a career break to raise a family in 2004 Claire became a director with her partner within the automotive industry. With the sale of the company in 2010, she joined Hyde + Hyde Architects to pursue a long term passion for architecture.

Catrin Spinner

Catrin is a third year Architecture student at the University of Bath, who grew up on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. At this present time, she is currently undertaking our Internship programme as an architectural assistant.

Possessing an established love for Architecture and its meaning in society, Catrin is passionate in learning the finer points of the design process. She also has a strong interest in 3D visualisation work and endeavours to acquire the presentational skills necessary in creating innovative and effective project work.
