I was recently approached by the Design Commission for Wales to write a short essay on practicing architecture in Wales.
The aim was to publish a collection of short stories to help mark the 10th Anniversary of the Design Commission for Wales. It reflected a range of perspectives from friends, colleagues and enthusiasts around the UK and from some of the designers living and working in Wales.
Contributions were sought from a wide range of people and selected from those who volunteered passionate, personal responses to the value of great design. There was no particular fixed theme or narrative, but to simply celebrate creativity through words and images.
If you would like to read more about the things that influence our work in this region, the following essay explores a key theme for us and a phenomenon that is simply inescapable – ‘Rain’.
