Hyde + Hyde News – September

Planning has now been awarded for four luxury ‘high quality’ contemporary homes set within the enclosed private grounds of an existing ecclesiastical mansion on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, South Wales.

The homes endorsed by the Design Commission for Wales will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes rating of 4.

The warm authentic material palette at ground floor is predominantly limestone and timber. Low profile mono-pitch roofs have been introduced to the first floor volumes, reminiscent of the language of agricultural outbuildings; creating a respectful series of forms that are subservient to the existing manor house.
